About

Hi. I’m John Federico and I’ve been a Mac Geek since 1993.

Actually, that’s not completely true.

Between 1996 and 2002, I was “on hiatus” from the Macintosh and Apple products in general. It was a disappointing period for the Mac and I found myself going over to the “dark side”, first with Windoze 95, then 98, then NT Desktop, then 2000, then XP.

With the release of Mac OS X “Jaguar” in 2002, I returned to the Mac with more excitement than ever. Since then, I’ve been casually evangelizing the Mac to any interested parties.

While my clients and co-workers suffered through viruses, worms, poor performance and the Blue Screen of Death, I got my work done. They were all so amazed at the fact that my wi-fi just worked. So did my printer setup, my audio recording, my video editing and oh yeah, they were just amazed by my Keynote presentations.

Recently, I went from being the only Mac user in my company (except for our three ‘creative people’) to the first of many. Of course with all those Switchers came lots of questions - so many questions that I finally put a “Genius Bar” sign on the door of my office!

This site is dedicated to all those Switchers who haven’t yet been able to translate their usual habits and workflows from Windoze to OS X.

If you have any specific questions you’d like answered, send them to questions@tipsforswitchers.com (or complete this form) and we’ll do our best to post our responses.

If you’re a Mac Geek with the urge to help others make the switch, contact us and we’ll see if we can’t get you posting tips of your own.

Regards,

-jf.
